Rita Rogers hosted me for two fantastic episodes on her popular Boom Clap Podcast. We shared a dynamic and wide-ranging conversation about artificial intelligence and especially about its impact on Christian families.
In Part 1, titled, “A Software Engineer’s Warning: what you should know about Big Tech & AI,” Rita invited me to educate and encourage her audience, especially about our God-given human uniqueness. We covered the risks of forming an unhealthy dependency upon today’s AI, and discussed what we should do instead.
In Part 2, titled “Could you stand firm on your convictions? Doug Smith walks away from a ‘dream job’”, Rita wanted to dive into my reasons for leaving my dream job because I was being required to use generative AI for software development. We encouraged everyone to cultivate convictions before they are tested, and to prepare for the possibility that they may need to take an uncomfortable stand as well.
I’m blessed and honored by the opportunity to share with Rita’s audience on such important and timely issues. I hope you enjoy these episodes.
